Changes

Posted in Joe Stryker News

We’re making a few changes around here. With our next episode, I had some technical difficulties with YouTube, so I decided it would be a great time to roll out (at least in part) a new feature I’ve been thinking of for a while now. Instead of embedding YouTube videos, we’re going to put the actual video file up, which you can view in your browser, or download to your computer to keep.

This will mean some slight changes to the way you view videos on the site. You’ll probably need QuickTime, or another compatible player installed. Luckily, it’s a free download.

We still plan on posting the videos to YouTube, so if you’ve subscribed there, don’t worry, you can still find your favorite Joe Stryker episodes there still. But very soon, you’ll also be able to subscribe to our site as a video podcast with any video-capable podcatcher, like iTunes, or Miro. We’ll have instructions on how to do that soon.

In the mean time, to view videos on the site, you’ll notice with each new episode a set of links that say: “Play Now | Play in Popup | Download.” If you want to view the video without leaving the current window, click “Play Now.” If your web browser supports it, a video player will appear on the page and start playing the episode. The same goes for “Play in Popup,” except that it will open a new window. If you prefer, you can also download the video to your computer, and play it from there.

We hope you like the changes, and our upcoming episodes. I hear Joe Stryker is going to have quite a Christmas adventure soon, so stay tuned for that.
